Sprites….sprites….Sprites!

Hi everyone, i would like to share you what i’m currently working on. They are sprites for an unannounced Iphone/Android game. I am currently art directing and designing the characters, armory, structures and vehicles of the game. Here are some of the sprites. They are all rendered in 3d and took approximately 2 1/2 days to do each. All shaders were done procedurally, no textures were used. Although i could’ve handpainted the sprites in 2d, i resorted to 3d since it allows for more accurate results and animation, as well as if ever the client wants a different angle or movement, it can be edited on the fly. The resolution size you see them here are much larger than what they will appear on the Iphone, i only resized them for showcasing purposes.

Here is the concept for the laser tower sprite that i began with, although later design changes transitioned into the final one above was mostly due to acquiring more pixel resolution inside the tiny square space given. Also shown is the actual heavy infantry sprite, that would end up just a mere 64 by 64 pixels in the engine, but oh well, It’s good to show something anyways.
